Youth Sunday School
We now offer a Sunday School for ages 4-8 year olds during the church service, after the children’s message we give each Sunday. The Sunday School is offered in September through mid June.
We also offer a nursery option for parents to have their 3 year olds and younger looked after during the church service.
Bible Study
Bible studies are an important part of spiritual life at Saint James United Methodist Church. There are periodic pastor-led Bible studies throughout the year. All are welcome to join in Bible studies, and materials will be provided. Please check the events calendar for scheduled Bible studies.

Confirmation
Confirmation classes are offered for youth in 8th grade. After completion of their studies students make their personal profession of faith during a public service.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)
2024 – Our theme, Jungle Journey, took us on an adventure jungle cruise that went from Genesis to Revelation, teaching us how Historical Christian events shaped our world, and how we can reconnect the Bible to our everyday lives.
2023 – Our theme, Twists & Turns, taught us that Jesus guides us through all the twists and turns of our lives.
2022 – Our theme, Nights of North Castle, taught us about the Armor of God – Belt of Truth, Breast plate of Righteousness, Shoes of peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, and Sword of the Spirit.
Children Pre-School (age 3) through
6th Grade are invited to participate.

Acolyte Training
Starting in fourth grade children may begin training as Acolytes. They will assist in the Sunday worship service by lighting the candles and delivering the collection plates.
