Steadfast Love

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 32 Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32 (NRSVue)

New beginnings and the invitation to embrace ourselves as new creations flow through today’s readings. In Jesus’ parable of Luke 15 the younger child is transformed when he returns home to find forgiveness and grace. Such gifts not only restore, but exalt him. Rejoice and be glad. In Christ, we are made new. In God, steadfast love guides us home.

Fill Me With Laughter

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 126; John 12: 1-8 (NRSVue)

Julian of Norwich wrote, ‘All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.’ Worship today draws us closer to the cross, closer to Jesus, and closer to God about to do a new thing. Let’s pause to reflect: what have we overcome for which we can give thanks today? How has God rescued us and given us the space and the breath to laugh again, to see beauty and wonder in the world around us? What testimony can we give to redemption, rescue, and hope? Help us to trust, O God, that “Those who go out weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy…” (Ps. 126:6).
